One stitch, two stitch, three stitch ― beer?
So, I was "bombing" down a trail on Saturday (well, "bombing" may be the wrong terminology here, actually it was only 18.8 mph according to the trusty Garmin 305) when the bike and I parted ways near the very end of the Death March ― however, it was fast enough to put some serious hurtin' on aul' surly (mic)cycler here!
Though the cut over the left eye coulda' used a coupla' quick stitches or so, I opted for the beer (my last Dale's Pale Ale) instead ― one more scar on this aul' pug wasn't going to make the Mic any worse for the wear! And, besides, I heard Dave Kalt had all the ER at FMH busy stitching his leg up!
This is what things looked like while hurtling through the air before hitting the ground, and
this is what things look like now (17 jun 08)! Ha! Ya gotta love that shade of yellow; not to mention the lovely purple eye liner!
Anywho, it was a really great ride that started up the Death March, then down Super Sweet then up again to the Thurmont Overlook then on to the Blue before finishing with the Death March down to Mountaindale Road and our car (I think that is right, I will have to check with Brie).
Oh, yeah, by the way, I wasn't alone, my friend Sean had a little "run in" with the business end of his handlebars and wound up with quite an "ouch" himself!
Let's just say I had a good bit of this "Sheet" after the fall and I felt much better; Sean, however, is probably STILL in pain!
Oh, but I did get a nice pair of Ryder Adrenaline Series Zephyr sunglasses out of all of this ― probably a good idea to have if you are going to be doing face plants on a regular basis!
