The baptism of our godchild ― Bailey Marie Kunkel!

We had a wonderful weekend with the fam! Starting Friday night with the trip to the "Club" for pizza and beer poolside-- could life be any better?--- we spent most of the weekend just living it up. From sliding down the excellent, twisty slide at the pool to doing magic tricks in the garage into the wee hours of the morning, we honestly felt like we were care free kids again-- sorta that same feeling you get flying down a smooth, steep decent on the MTB (come on, it had to relate back to bikes somehow)

Saturday evening was the Catholic Luau (what you've never heard of such a thing?) Well, you are definitely missing out, first it starts by getting dipped in the giant hot tub by a tall guy in a green robe (see above), continues on with a ceremonial meal of banana and green chili quesadillas, doritos, and a delicious concoction of sweet potatoes, lentils, hearts of palm, cider vinegar, mustard, honey, and vegetable broth?? MMmm.... Towards the end of the evening (or early next morning) the festivities finish up with Bailey's served in shot glasses fashioned out of ice cubes and ritual dancing to an entire Neil Diamond album. And who said God doesn't have a sense of humor!

The outcome of the weekend-- two very, very honored godparents (okay, one godparent and one "catholic witness"). We couldn't have been happier to spend such a wonderful weekend with the Collard/Kunkel crew. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives! The absence of the Ranno's was definitely noted -- don't worry we'll find other sacraments to celebrate! Have you ever heard of a Buddhist Fiesta??
